Oil From Spill Threatens Louisiana's Marshes

NPR- The oil spill from the blown-out well is beginning to destroy critical habitat for birds, mammals and marine wildlife, as it seeps deeper into Louisiana's fragile marshes.

The marshes are an important buffer to absorb surges from violent storms. Cleaning that oil out of the marshes won't be easy.

Officials are considering a range of options — one is burning out the oil and the marshes with them, but that and other cleanup options may do more harm than good.
