Boo Flew In To Celebrate My Birthday!!
How awesome is that?!
The Spice's and Dana hatched a plan and Boo flew in. Believe me there is a photo on Dana's camera of me looking shocked as I opened the door and out fell Boo.
We headed into the city for a great meal (at Toast) and lots of laughs. Mr. Spice wasn't all too comfy with the Twi talk but he stuck it out.
I'll work on a better "my Friends are amazing, I am so lucky, best birthday ever" post. But for now just know...
I have the most amazing friends. Friends who go out on school nights, friends who fly in from Texas because "I've never missed your birthday since we've met", friends who even when they get sick try to stick it out and finally new amazing friends who come to your rescue.
I'm lucky.
More to come...

A Little Girl Talk from Pam101: Marriage
![]() |
| Best inside joke ever. |
As a loyal reader, you know Pam101 had a bad week a few weeks ago. Nothing was going right. I was just in a bad funk. One of the things that was wrecking my mood and week was my feelings on marriage. I just was totally anti-marriage.
In my mind...there was nothing good that would come from being married. Think about it...you don't have to be married to have a kid. Married people always have to check with the other on whether or not they can do this or that. Married people argue and then you have to stay in the same house as the person who is annoying the shit out of you. In my mind, the most beneficial thing about marriage was having someone to offset your expenses.
Everyone says, "I married my best friend." Well, if that was the case, Pam101 would be marrying about 5 women and we all know same sex marriages aren't legal in PA (how can anyone deny a person the right to be married?!) I even brainstormed ideas on writing a real post about why people shouldn't get married, I did research. But then I was to lazy to write it...
Like I said...this was a week where I just was a bitter ol spinster.
But then you see something that changes your views and opinions. Or in my case...brings you back to your senses and back to your romantic feelings on marriage.
I have always felt that my friends have married really good men. Men like Mr. Spice. I will test theory now that I am back in Pittsburgh and will be seeing all of my friends and their spouses often. I am pretty sure that the husbands will get sick of me.
When Mrs. Spice got sick on Saturday night, I called Mr. Spice. I texted Mr. Spice. I pretty much worried the bee-gee's out of Mr. Spice.
Mr. Spice got there as quick as he could. He was worried. He was concerned. He helped Mrs. Spice. He was what a husband should be. He was there when you needed him the most.
We'll see how long it takes Mr. Spice to get sick of me. I am seeing the Spice's today and tomorrow. I am sure come Wednesday ...they both will be ready for a break from Pam101.
Dear future husband aka Sidney Crosby
You can't judge me for having a second slice of delicious, shut your face, so good BIRTHDAY cake.
I promise the diet starts tomorrow. Well, maybe after Easter.

Major Bucks
"The Hunger Games" scored $155 million in North American ticket sales this weekend, the third highest opening weekend of all time, according to estimates from Lionsgate.Source
Only "The Dark Knight" ($158.4 million) and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" ($169.1 million) have had stronger opening weekend showings, giving "The Hunger Games" the highest non-sequel weekend premiere ever. The $155 million bounty also outranked every entry in the "Twilight" series, including the franchise's biggest opener, "New Moon," which started with $142.8 million when it bowed in November of 2009.
A Little Girl Talk from Pam101: Being an Aunt
Dear Lucy and Will,
As you both know, I take my role as your Aunt very seriously.
From the moment each of you were born, I felt an instant responsibility to be the absolutely best Aunt I could be.
To be there for every birthday, to dry your tears and change your diapers (well not the really poopy ones), to put band-aids on boo boo's, to smother your face with kisses, to cry at your dance recital, to cheer you on at t-ball games, to be there when you learn Skype and want to read me stories, to be there when you need someone to talk to, to pretend your foot is a telephone and make calls from your toes, to be there when someone is mean to you, to help you throw rocks into a creek, to hug you even when you want me to go away, etc, etc.
For every high and low...I hope to be there.
I turn 32 tomorrow. And I just want you to know that the past 5 years and handful of months as your Aunt has been the highlight of my life. You make my heart ache with love and happiness.
Thank you for being the most wonderful part of my day.
All my love,
Aunt Pam Let's call it a Rain Delay
| my drink at Las Velas |
Last night I got to hang out with some of my all time favorite people.
Christine, Dana and Spicy.
We were ready.
But in the midst of a heated and awesome discussion of the power of Spanx, I noticed Spice was quiet. And then Christine mentions that Spice wasn't looking to good.
And she wasn't.
My girl got hit with something fast and furious.
We don't know what it was.
But our girl almost fell to the floor.
Mr. Spice was called (more on that later and how awesome he is).
We got Spice in the car and we headed home.
I am happy to report that she is feeling better today.
So, while it wasn't the birthday celebration we all were hoping for. It was a reminder of the power of friendships and love that i have for these girls. I am so lucky to have them in my life. And I am so lucky that even when the "rain" happens on our parade...we can always call in a "rain delay."
Thank you to Spice, Dana and Teens for celebrating with me.
The Willy Wonka of Pittsburgh
Sarris's is hands down the best chocolate.
Pam101 made a little pit-stop there today and spent a small fortune on goodies for Easter gifts.
I may or may not have picked up a few things for myself.
So Delicious!
Pretty Perfect Saturday Afternoon
Saturday afternoon at the Pam101 estate was pretty awesome. Big Brother brought over Will to join me and Lucy for an adventure.
We packed a picnic, loaded up the Mule and headed for the creek.
Of course we almost got stuck and for a moment almost had to go get the tractor to get us out of the muddy situation.
We got out.
We had a blast.
The kids had a great time.
Pretty perfect Saturday!
