Greetings from a Tornado warning, Torrential rain, Lighting filled Dreary Tampa Morning.

Pam101 is sitting on her Aunt's patio with a cup of joe and a great book.

I am LOVING the Hunger Games. I can't put it down!! I'll be done with it by noon.

Happy Thursday Friends!

Because this is the month of my birth...

Pam101 in a sequenced tube top
I thought it was completely appropriate to end my Birth Month with another fabulous Glamour Shot.  Pam101 was 18 years old and getting ready to head to college (it was only an hour away and I came home like every weekend).

Ahh...to be 18 again. Would I do it all over again?  If I could would I go back and change things? Would I tell a young Pam101 all the things she needs to know about life. I really don't know if I would. Every bad hair day, every bump in the road, every drink I drank, all the disappointments, every heartache, all the hugs and tears...have lead me to where I am right now.

And where I am right now....is a very good place.

Pam101 note: I hope you have enjoyed celebrating my Birth Month as much as I have.

Headed to 80 degrees and sunshine...

Pam101 is headed to Florida for a few days of R&R with her family. We will sit by the pool, soak up some sun (and Pina Colada's) and we will be celebrating my 31st Birthday (it is still March which means I can still celebrate) all weekend!

We are also going to the Pens game on Thursday night. Sitting right by the glass! CAN'T WAIT!

You know I will post here and there but for the most part...Pam101 will be taking a break.

Have a great week/weekend everyone!!

xoxoxxo!

Def going to have to purge the DVR box for all the Royal Wedding crap!

Pam101 can't wait! Having a Royal Wedding watch party on April 29th! Tea, crumpets, clotted cream! I will even wear a hat!

Lucy would make a fantastic Junior Reporter!

Jersey is packed and ready to go....

This Thursday Pam101 and some of her family will be attending the Pens vs Lighting game in Tampa.  Pretty sure I have told you all about ten times now that Mama P and yours truly have seats right BY THE ICE! So, when the Pens check hard and smash dudes in boards Pam101 will smack the glass and scream like a crazy person. I just hope I don't spill my $10.00 beer. Mom is going to HATE sitting by me.

Make sure you look for Mom and Me at the game. I will be rocking my Winter Classic Jersey!

Pam101 will be in section 118, Row A, Seats 3 and 4. We shoot twice on that end.

Because this is the month of my birth...

March is almost over (sad face). After today's post we only have one more Because this is my month of birth post left. Are you happy or sad?  Most of you seem to be enjoying looking at photos from my past and taking a trip down memory lane with me.  The whole point of these posts is to look at how far I (we) have come. From a tiny little kid who helped her Dad in the backyard, all the way through my ugly duckling/awkward years, high school, college and into my present. The here and now.  What an adventure.

And while this has been mostly about me I do believe that there are bits and pieces (life lessons) that we all have in common.  For the most part we all had bad hair days, our Mom's let us where crazy outfits, our glasses were half the size of our face but more importantly we all were footloose and fancyfree kids.   Life goes fast, too fast. We need to stop and smell the roses. Before you know it you blink and you are 31. 31!

Life Lesson: Even when you are having a bad day...things will be better in a bit...and life goes on. Enjoy it.

YES! YES! YES!  Dana in elementary school. Click it for the best SMILE you will have all day!

Ok, this is quite possibly the cutest baby photo ever. Far right is 2.5 year old little Jax with her cousin Janine and her baby brother is chillin on the bed.

I am down to 50,000 Billion

I just read that we have approx 100 Billion nerve cells in our brain.  Well after last night's Tub Painting project I would say I have about half left.  Let's just say it may not have been the best idea to spray my tub at 9:00pm and then hope that opening a window would air out the place.  Not to smart Pam101, not to smart.

Oh, and this AM when I checked out the tub there are like 4 major mess ups. Oh'well. I am the only one who showers there. Sigh.

Pork Milanese with Arugula Salad

Thanks, Everyday Food

Lightly dressed bitter greens are the perfect accompaniment to sumptuous pan-fried pork. This dish is also a good choice for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:
1 small garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 pounds pork cutlets ( 1/4-inch thick)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, plus more if needed
3 cups baby arugula
1 head radicchio or endive or a combination, thinly sliced
1/3 cup thinly sliced red onion

Directions:
In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil and season with salt and pepper; set dressing aside. Place flour in a small bowl. Season pork with salt and pepper and dredge in flour, shaking off excess.

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high. When oil is hot, add cutlets, working in batches and adding more oil if necessary (do not overcrowd pan). Cook until cutlets are golden on bottom, 3 minutes.

Flip and cook until cooked through, 3 minutes. Transfer cutlets to a large platter.

In a large bowl, toss arugula, radicchio, and onion with dressing, then top cutlets with salad.

Always read the directions first!

Prepping the tub for the plastic cover...
Plastic cover is on tile (looks better with the flash)
Dr.Pam101 making the tub refinish paint. Um...getting the paint ready takes about 2 hours. UGH! I should have started this first instead of taping up tub first.
Paint is on. My neighbors have to hate me right now. So many fumes.

Power Lesbians or Complete Nerds?

8th grade, Pam101 and Dana, 13 years old.
OMG! YES!  How fantastic is this photo!!! Yes, Dana and I were such BFF's that we sealed our friendship with a Sears Studio Portrait Package! 11x14's, some 8x10's and a crapload of wallets!  Dana is rocking her major bangs  (3/4 of her forehead, what is up with that?), Pam101 has her DEB v-neck sweater on and her sweet braces. This photo is priceless!

The Bride Wore Pink!

Snap of Reese's wedding tent.
When Reese Witherspoon walked down the aisle to wed Jim Toth on Saturday, the second-time bride ditched traditional white for her dress.

Instead, the Oscar winner, 35, wore a strapless, pale pink gown custom-designed by Monique Lhuillier as she swapped vows with Toth at her Ojai, Calif. ranch, the new Us Weekly reveals.

Witherspoon paired her dress with satin Jimmy Choo platform sandals (price tag: $645).

Not that Witherspoon totally avoided that traditional hue during her rustic, country-themed fete. When it came time for the reception (complete with sit-down dinner, dancing and s'mores!) with family and A-listers like Scarlett Johansson and Renee Zellweger, Witherspoon changed into a short, white cocktail dress.

Trouble in Mad Men Paradise....

My favorite shot of last season...
"AMC has officially authorized production of season five of 'Mad Men,' triggering our option with Lionsgate ['Mad Men's' production company]," the network said in a statement Monday. "While we are getting a later start than in years past due to ongoing, key non-cast negotiations, 'Mad Men' will be back for a fifth season in early 2012."

Those key negotiations involve creator Matthew Weiner. His 'Mad Men' contract ran out at the end of season four, and he has been in talks with AMC and Lionsgate for several months.

Because this is the month of my birth...

We love Canada and Canadian Beer.
Life wouldn't be the same without this girl in my life. Dana and I have been best friends since 8th grade! We were destined to be BFF's since her last name started with a Q and mine with a P. Which meant...that our lockers would be right beside each other until we graduated high school.

At the time I am sure neither of us thought that we would attend the same college. Attend graduate school together. Live together for almost four years. We have celebrated a lot of highs and lows together. Dana's wedding, me moving to DC, Dana's baby's, etc. And through it all our friendship never wavered. Well, there were a few high school fights that I still bust her balls about. But our friendship has remained a constant for almost 20 years.

Life Lesson: The words from the Girl Scout song, Make New Friends But Keep The Old, best sums up the meaning of today's post...

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver, the other is gold.

A circle is round, it has no end.
That's how long, I will be your friend.

A fire burns bright, it warms the heart.
We've been friends, from the very start.

You have one hand, I have the other.
Put them together, We have each other.

Silver is precious, Gold is too.
I am precious, and so are you.

You help me, and I'll help you
and together we will see it through.

The sky is blue The Earth is green
I can help to keep it clean

Across the land Across the sea
Friends forever We will always be

1 bunch baby carrots
1/4 cup chopped fresh dill

Awwwww....YEA!!!!

Easter threw up on my kitchen table...

I love this!

Michael and Holly. I love them!

It'll be here before you know it...

A few days ago I was a glam girl in the city....

Well, tonight I will be using Steel Wool and scrubbing the loose paint from my tub. Why? Because I am refinishing it again! Tonight I scrape, tomorrow I paint! See...I am the best kind of woman. You can dress me up, you can dress me down. I can put air in my tires and I can paint a tub. Hot!

The Pam101 family say good bye to a great lady...

The ladies in Pam101's family. Front: Aunt Betty Jean, Aunt Leona, Aunt Bev. Back: Mom, Lucy (14 months) and Pam101. January 2008.
Pam101's family got the sad news that my Great Aunt Leona passed away on Saturday night. She had been sick for a while but losing someone you love is always tough. Pam101 struggels sometimes with faith. But my Aunt had a very strong faith and I find great comfort in that. Aunt Leona was one of the most kind, generous and was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet. She always put your needs before hers and always lent a helping hand. And like many ladies in my family...boy could she bake! Amazing baker! I know you don't know my Aunt but I thought a section of her obituary was worth sharing. Let's all take a moment and appreciate the life that we are living. Take a deep breath and just savor the moment. Time just goes to fast not too.

Leona Mae Nickler Connor went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2011 in the evening hours. She went peacefully in her home with her loving family and friends close to her heart.

Leona was a deeply spiritual person and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and always put the needs of others before her own.

Leona devoted her life to her family, raising her son and in later years devoting her life to her beloved grandchildren: Jessica, Hilary and Jordan. She is affectionately known as Grammy to hundreds of Teens as well as being famous for her pepperoni rolls and tollhouse cookies.

She was an avid golfer, liked to bowl and was always ready for a good game of cards. She enjoyed deep conversations on long rides, spinning a few slot machines and attending her kids' events.

PM Edition of the Hotness

You all know I am big fan of Russell Brand. This piece on him that aired on CBS Sunday Morning is today's PM Hotness! Love it! Love him! Love this show!

Go! Go! Gators!

Lucy found my 1st Cheerleading outfit. She rocked it!

The Art of Sewing

After a few fun days of playing, eating and drinking I got to serious "Sewing Focus" on Sunday. I had to get a lesson from my Mom before I headed back to DC. After a few sighs, rolling my eyes and saying, "I HATE THIS and THIS IS STUPID" (which Lucy ran over and told me I can't say Hate or Stupid) I think I may have gotten the hang of sewing a straight line. I figured I should start with the easier project, Baby Will's Dr. Seuss Birthday Banner. Lucy's dress is going to have to wait a few more days. Here is the proof I did actually sew this weekend! Enjoy!

Lucy the helper (with her pin cushion)
NOW WHAT!?
Putting thread on the bobbin. I tried three times before I yelled for help.
My first sewing test was making a square (which turned into a sleeping bag for Lucy's bunny rabbit)
Pushing the sewing pedal.
Proof! Sewing Will's banner (well pieces of it).
Fabric for Dr.Seuss Birthday Banner.

Wow! This is the WORST CAMERA ANGLE EVER! I have so many chins! Sigh. Whatever...you all know what I look like! Attempt 1 was a disaster.

When things mess up...blame Grandma!

Sigh. I need a lot of work!
