Yumcakes! Jon Hamm talks with Parade Magazine

Jon Hamm covers this weekend's Parade magazine, and in the interview he talks about his parents, his childhood and how he doesn't plan to marry Jennifer Westfeldt, his longtime girlfriend and the "love of his life." Here are some excerpts:

At a party in 1997, he met Westfeldt, best known for co-writing and starring in the 2001 comedy Kissing Jessica Stein. Later he helped her rehearse lines for an audition.
"She didn't get the part, which may be my fault, but she got the guy."

Why they're not in a hurry to get married.
"I don't have the marriage chip, and neither of us have the greatest examples of marriages in our families. But Jen is the love of my life, and we've already been together four times longer than my parents were married."

Nor is he rushing to have children.
"I like kids but I also like the option to close the door. Becoming a parent is a whole other life, and it doesn't stop."

How he and Westfeldt deal with the attention he gets as a sex symbol.
"That kind of stuff is only present if you give it attention. If it's not reflected back, it goes away. It's not like I'm Justin Bieber or anything."

A very very random Gchat with JenMo re: celebs!

Please enjoy this funny conversation JenMo and I just had. My fave part is at the very end when we discuss the fashion of one of the Kardashian's BF's. It's awesome.

pam101: and do we think Mel Gibson is going to bounce back from this drama?

jenmo: nope, i think he's toast

pam101: I do too. i would think that no one in your hometown will want to work with him ever again

jenmo: oh for sure, i think hollywood's more forgiving of addicts

pam101: totally...now DC...we never forget
:)

jenmo: ahahahha

pam101: i want to be a celeb, like paris hilton...minus the skankiness...just be rich...party...travel...pay for friends to travel with me

jenmo: i want to be kourtney kardashian, minus the douchey boyfriend

pam101: TOTALLY!
Why is she with him?
I REFUSE to date a man who wears coral pants, blue blazer and a pocket square
oh and NO SOCKS!
WTF is up with that?!

jenmo: hahaha i know!
it's not at all her style either
cause she's not preppy

Sure we travel all the time...

Pam101 and Boo101 in Buenos Aires 2009.

Yes, you all know that Boo and I are having our getaway this weekend. But I was thinking that this trip is special for the following reasons:

1. This is our first trip (our of the country) post Boo101 becoming a mommy.

2. In BA Boo was knocked up so she "couldn't" drink. Even though I think you can have a glass of wine here and there...I am sure someone will correct me on this.

3. The last time we were together I lost my wallet and was miserable so this trip will make up for it.

4. This is our first cruise together. Watch out buffets and 24 hour room service.

5. Because we only see each other a few times a year and those are some of the best times I have!

Maybe it was all the steps when he played Plinko?

A Little Girl Talk from Pam101

I love weddings! I love everything about them. The planning (God, I love the planning), the flowers, the dress, the colors, centerpieces, invitations....the CAKE! I love it all!

I have been itching for a good wedding lately. It seems like I have entered into the "baby shower" phase of my life. Instead of buying china sets I am looking at baby bathtubs and bibs. And shopping for a baby shower dress isn't half as much fun as a dress that screams "check out the hot girl at the single person table".

Being that I was NOT invited to Chelsea Clinton's it looks like the next wedding I will be going to will not be until October.

The wedding I am so looking forward to attending in October is for my great friends Tommy and Joe. Thanks DC for letting them get married! I am so happy to be apart of their extra special day.

Joe and Tommy

Anyway...being that I am a chick I have always daydreamed about my wedding. Who the F knows if I ever will get married but right now I know that if (or when) I get married I will want people to dance and eat cake until the sun comes up. Or maybe if I just have some really good wedding cake this "I think I should start looking for a husband phase" will end. But then if I eat too much wedding cake will anyone want to marry me?! God...girls have so many issues ;)

Oh and PS and at my wedding I am have crates and crates of pink champagne!

I tweeted this but I didn't blog it...Whoops!

Ivy Bean, Known As Oldest Twitter User, Dies At 104

The woman known as "the world's oldest tweeter" died Wednesday at 104, the manager of her care home in Britain said.

Ivy Bean, who was better known by her handle, "IvyBean104," had become an online celebrity for her embrace of microblogging at such an advanced age.

Bean had accumulated about 57,000 Twitter followers and maxed out at 5,000 friends on Facebook. Her tweets ranged from the mundane — "time for a tea and biscuit I think" — to the gossipy — "some have had a drink of lager while sat in the garden."

Sarah Brown, the wife of former Prime Minister Gordan Brown, was one of her followers. They met this year at Downing Street to talk about social networking.

Belvedere is one of the unopened bottles in Pam101's bar...

Vanity Fair-
The New York Post is reporting that Zac Efron, lucrative vestigial organ of the High School Musical franchise, spent $2,000 on Belvedere vodka and the company of gyrating ladies at Flashdancers Gentlemen's Club in New York. He was accompanied by one Corbin Bleu, whose name the Post lists in bold for reasons unknown. According to an unnamed informant—one even more anonymous than the aforementioned Corbin Bleu—Efron and friends “ordered one bottle of Belvedere vodka and were enthralled with the dancers. They were interacting a lot with the girls and reaching out and showering money on them. There were three girls who Zac and his friends particularly liked and they asked to do personal dances at their table.” Flashdancers Gentleman’s Club has confirmed Efron’s presence, but would not divulge any further details. We wish we could say this is the most we’ve ever questioned Efron’s taste in choreography.

For just a little over $30 G's you could have cocktails with Anna Wintour and President Obama.

Preparations were underway Wednesday morning at Vogue editor Anna Wintour's Greenwich Village townhouse. President Obama is slated to attend a fundraiser there Wednesday night for the Democratic National Committee, with entrance reportedly costing $30,000.

Sullivan Street, where Wintour's home is located, as well as neighboring MacDougal were already closed by police by 9AM (the townhouses on the west side of Sullivan Street, where Wintour lives, share a garden with those on the east side of MacDougal Street). Barricades lined nearby Bleecker and Thompson Streets. Neighbors were told they should carry ID and proof of residence to be able to return home later in the day.

I didn't get my invitation!

While Boo and I are having our "honeymoon" Chelsea Clinton will be getting married this weekend. Rumor has it she will be wearing Vera Wang and her mother, Secretary of State Hillary, will be wearing Oscar de la Renta.

WWD caught the bride-to-be visiting Vera Wang on Tuesday afternoon. Chelsea arrived 15 minutes after her mother got there for the 4 p.m. appointment, and she donned a floppy hat to cover her what we're assuming is her wedding hairdo.

Us Weekly reports that Victoria's Secret bombshell Miranda Kerr is pregnant! Kerr, who just got married to actor Orlando Bloom in a secret ceremony last week, fueled rumors about being with child after refusing to comment on the topic. But now, a source close to Kerr told Us, "She's definitely pregnant...Miranda's thrilled," adding, "She's telling all her friends, mostly other models, about it."

Kerr did tell a Sydney newspaper, "I have always been very open about wanting to be a mother one day. And I've always thought Orlando would be a great dad. I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen."

A Little Girl Talk from Pam101

So, today I got an email from LaBomb. I won't post the whole email but here is the part I think you Pam101 fans will like:

From LaBomb:
"...In other news I'm at the beginning of Breaking Dawn. I will admit that I cried at the end of Eclipse when Jacob left. I am firmly in Team Jacob's camp. Soon I'll be ready for the movie marathon. Pam-maybe one weekend in August I can come over to watch the first 2? You own them right?"

I can't believe she even has to ask if I own them! For the past year I have been blogging Twi-crap. Of, course I own them!

So, in the end LaBomb, Lils and I are having Twilight movie night! Just us three and my Edward Cullen lifesize cutout.

You asked for it! You got it! Another post from Lils!!

Lil's Soup-Making Adventure.

Yesterday I made a delicious butternut squash soup with a butternut squash from the garden of Pam101's family. Making the soup wasn't really the adventurous part, that part was the walk up 16th on Sunday carrying a bag full of gigantic vegetables (I'm pretty sure that zucchini is bigger than my arm) and stepping over branches and other debris from the crazy storm that had just ended.

Here's the recipe:
1 butternut squash
3 shallots
few tablespoons olive oil
a few cups of chopped carrots
1 container of vegetable broth
-Start by sauteing the chopped shallots in the olive oil, then just throw in everything else (clearly it's an exact science). The veggies should just barely be covered by the broth. Simmer it until everything is good and mushy. Then get out the blender and blend away until you have a nice pureed consistency. Transfer back to the pot and add some salt and pepper to taste and voila - deliciousness!

I've made this soup a gazillion times and it's so easy to tweak it to fit your mood. Feel free to add an apple or two in for a little sweetness, or at the end add some spices for heat, cinnamon or cloves can also be good. One family gathering we literally just had bottles of spices on the table so people could personalize it. Instead of make your own sundae, it was make your own butternut squash soup!!

I never watched Dawson's Creek but this is pretty funny.

Glee gives us some deets on Season 2

Season 2 will pick up at the beginning of a new school year at McKinley High, where the members of New Directions are bigger losers than ever before following their disappointing third-place finish at Regionals.

“It starts them off at ground zero and the theme of the second season is ‘Do you have what it takes to win?’ ” Murphy said. “It really catalogs them trying to climb up from the embarrassing abyss.”

Murphy also teased a few new characters who could join the series: “I really want to see who Rachel’s gay dads are,” he said. “And I have a feeling Brittany has a very smart older sister who’s horrified [by her].”

Murphy confirmed fan favorites Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth will return to the series, though not as regulars. He also shot down rumors that Justin Timberlake will make a guest appearance. “If we did do something like that, I think it would probably be down the line. But I think he would be the younger brother of Matt Morrison,” Murphy said. “I really don’t have a lot of plans for guest star stuff the second season. I always think of the tribute episodes that we do as sort of our ultimate guest stars.”

So whose music will make an appearance? “We’re doing six Britney [Spears] songs,” Murphy confirmed. “We’re paying tribute to her in a sort of fun and unexpected way.” Though he wouldn’t say if Spears herself would show up at McKinley, he did confirm the second season of Glee will have an episode to pay tribute to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

A Little Girl Talk from Pam101

Today was a Venti of Anxiety and Stress. Let me break it down...

1. The laptop drama caused my heart to race and I actually felt like I needed medicated. It wasn't like I was looking for a $25.00 dress from Old Navy. We are talking about misplacing a brand new laptop.

2. I changed my mind three times today about canceling a weekend trip to Chicago. I looked at my checking balance, my leave balance and decided that I couldn't go. But then when I found out it was $150 to rebook a new flight I told myself I should go. But then I looked at the numbers again and canceled. So, now I will not be going to the Windy City and that makes me sad. But it is my own fault. I should have planned better.

3. BUDGETS SUCK!

4. I called in to get a free estimate on getting a new tub. My bathroom stresses me out.

5. I am pale and will burn on my weekend escape.

6. My garden is the money pit.

Here is wishing Sandra a very Happy Birthday!

THEY FOUND MY LAPTOP!!!

President Obama is sitting down with the ladies of The View

NEW YORK — ABC's "The View" has welcomed many notable guests, but none more prominent than President Barack Obama, who is scheduled to visit for Thursday's edition.

In making the announcement on Monday, executive producers Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie said this marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has visited a daytime talk show.

They said the majority of the hour will be devoted to Obama's appearance, which will touch on topics including jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill and family life inside the White House. It is scheduled to tape on Wednesday.

"We are so pleased and honored," Walters said.
