Today is the Stunning Ariel's farewell dinner party. It is Julia Child inspired. The first thing I conquered was the creme brulee's. Here are a few of the snaps of the steps.
Take the main ingredients: 1 qt Heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 vanilla bean.
Scrape bean and remove the pulp out of the bean...place quart of cream and and bean pulp and the bean into a saucepan. Bring to boil...let sit for 15 min while you work on the egg yolk mixture. Take 6 yolks mix them with 1/2 cup sugar. Take the hot cream mixture and temper it into the eggs. Once all of the mixture has been combined...pour into ramekins and place baking dish. Pour hot water around ramekins...making a water bath. Place in 325 degree oven. Bake for 40-45 min, they will be wobbly. Take out of baking dish and place in fridge.
30 minutes prior to service pour sugar on each one and then torch it! The burning of the sugar creates a delicious crunchy layer. Delicious!
